The Community Association Managers International Certification Board Welcomes Three New Members To The Board

 

Industry Veterans Rob Felix, Michael Hurley and James Magid Join The Board

 

Falls Church, Virginia – The Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) welcomes Rob Felix, CMCA, PCAM, RS, Michael J. Hurley,  B.S.c, Certificate IV Body Corporate Management, Certificate IV Property Operations (Strata), CSCA, FSCA and James Magid, CMCA, LSM, PCAM to its 2018 Board of Commissioners.

This combined wealth of experience and insight will certainly bolster our efforts to enhance the profession while continuing to offer the most widely recognized and trusted credential for the community association management profession.”

 

Rob Felix, who will serve as a Commissioner and as the CAMICB Board Secretary-Treasurer, is the owner of Consolidated Community Services, LLC & The Felix Reserve Group, a successful Industry Consulting/Reserve Study business he launched in 2001.  With a background in construction operations, he combined a degree in business and finance, and years of service to various industry segments to become a national leader in community association management, finances, operations, and successful community and team building. As an industry enthusiast, Rob assists developers, management companies, managers and communities through uniquely designed Reserve Studies, project administration, operational and financial analysis, community and team building programs, leadership development, strategic thinking programs, education and expert witness services. A former Chair of the CAMICB Board of Commissioners, Rob is a longtime supporter of CAMICB. He is Chair of the CAMICB Exam Development Committee and serves on the CMCA Continuing Education Review Committee.

 

Jim Magid has been involved in the professional community management business for more than 25  years and has been employed by First Service Residential for the past 20 years. His responsibilities have included executive management of two regional offices with oversight of approximately 70 communities and a staff of 45. In 2015, Jim was promoted to Vice President. In this role he is responsible for oversight of operations for approximately 25 communities in his home state of New Jersey. Jim has been active at both the local and national levels of Community Associations Institute (CAI).  He has served on many New Jersey CAI Chapter committees as well as the New Jersey CAI Chapter Board for six years, including Chapter President in 2005. Additionally, Jim has served on the APCM Board for four years as well as on the CAI Legislative Action Committee for the past 10 years.

 

Michael J. Hurley, a resident of Buderim, Queensland, Australia, joined the Australian Community Title Management sector in 1991 and established a moderately sized Queensland-based Community Title Management Firm specializing in the management of smaller Community Title Associations. Eight years later, Michael and his business partner created Strata Care Australia Pty Ltd in order to manage larger Community Title Associations and served as the firm’s Managing Director until 2015.  Michael and his partners also founded Place Community Management LLC in the UAE.  In addition, Michael serves on a number of industry-related boards ranging from education related issues to federal and state government affairs. He has been actively engaged over the past two years in the development and delivery of a global form of the CMCA examination and serves on the CAMICB Exam Development Committee as an International Subject Matter Expert.

 

CAMICB is governed by a nine-member Board of Commissioners. Seven commissioners are certified community association managers and two represent the public's interests.  In addition to Felix, Hurley and Magid, each elected to an initial three-year term, other CAMICB Board of Commissioners include:
